Best of Both Emerger

This is a very interesting pattern from Gordon van der Spuy’s first book, 'The feather mechanic’. The best of both, has two parachute hackles, one of traditional hackle and one of CDC. The lower CDC hackle helps give the emerger a more lifelike presentation, rather than the more static traditional hackle. It is also believed that the slightly larger footprint created by the CDC makes it more visible for the trout. The Opal tinsel body and copper wire rib makes a very realistic gas filled shuck ready to split and emerge. No matter what, this is a very nice pattern to tie and I can’t recommend it higher!

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
