A more realistic egg

This is a slight variation from the more well known antron egg. I like this fly because it is far more durable and is a little easier to tie and you can find a wider variety of colors to match local fisheries.

The list of materials that you will need to tie this fly are as follows:

Scud hook or egg hook
White thread (UTC 70 Denier or equivalent)
Egg yarn (Color of Choice)
Red Dubbing (I used wool, but antron or other dubbings will work as well)
Super Glue (This is important as it will prevent the back of the egg from getting loose and ruining the pattern

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
