Griffith's Gnat

Here we will be tying the dry fly Griffith's Gnat. The fly is a great option for both stream and lake fishing and works just as good here in Iceland as it does in other fly fishing countries. The fly catches both brown trout and arctic char. Simple to tie and totally worth keeping a few in your box when you go fishing. The fly is imitating a floating gnat or cluster of gnats and the fish will in most cases go for it. I fish this fly in rather big sizes here in Iceland from 12, 14, 16 and 18. We don't need to make it in smaller numbers like it's made in in the USA for and example. 150% recommend this pattern since it's simple, effective and easy to tie.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
