Spey casting River Alness, Scotland

A tough situation for spey casting
Elevated casting spot, fast inside current with an eddy, far side of the middle tail out is the sweet spot.
Don’t blow the anchor... shallow d loop... get the distance... get the fly fishing from the second it lands... keep line off the water.
All sounds great in theory? Right? No fished hooked.

Rod - Bob Meiser 13ft 6in Highlander S 8wt
Reel - 1920s Hardy Perfect Salmon 3 3/4
Line - Scandi Head
Running Line - OPST lazer line

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
