Like in zero?

Nada? Zilch? Riens? Intet? Nothing?

Bob,

Find comfort in the fact that my last trip was a zero-fish trip too.
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...
And the trip before that...

Yup, that's 19 trips (nineteen!) without a fish!

I must be jinxed or cursed or whatever. It must be those drawings of Mohammed or something I have done, because I have completely lost my touch--which although it might never have been golden, at least has been shining just a bit.

I have had one take on each of my last two trips, but not hooked or landed a single fish. I'm slowly sliding into some kind of fishing depression, and for each trip I take I believe less and less that I will run into some action. And not only have I caught nothing myself, but the people I have been with have caught scarcely a fish. And when they have been out without me, their fishing has been fine... sigh!

The worst incident was my latest trip to Sweden, where a good friend called while I was punching my way through the ice near the shore to get to open water. He was envious and wanted to be where I was, but announced that he would take a hort trip in his local area.

1½ hours later a text message ticked in on my cell phone: "4 fish in the first 5 casts. All nice fish. Largest one about 60 centimeters (24 inches). Lost one the same size..."

Sigh!

And I was flogging the freezing, Swedish water to foam to no avail.

Sigh!

Spring, where art thou?

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
