GFF had a heart stop

But we're out of the coma now!

If you look at the Global FlyFisher Heart Beat, which shows how many articles The Global FlyFisher publishes every month, you will notice that GFF has been almost dead all autumn. We usually publish some five articles a month, but that number of course varies a lot. There has been other activities like blog entries, new user pictures and entries in our discussion forum, but altogether the site has been in a near coma.
The months where no new articles see the day of light are usually few and far apart. Not so this autumn. We had a hiatus of four months and November was a one article month, so if you suspected us of having gone to sleep for the winter in our GFF-cave, you were fully entitled to do so.

The reasons are many, but as you can see from our usual publishing pattern, most articles pass through my hands, and I have been busy moving from my house to a flat, fishing BC and working to make some money to pay for GFF - amongst other things.

I'm cranking up the publishing frequency now, and you can already see a couple of articles from December and the first couple from January. We have a ton of stuff in the review pipeline, and we have a articles, patterns and picture reports submitted by GFF visitors, which are also waiting for further treatment. Much of it is waiting on my table. I have flies to photograph, text to edit and images to work on, and as soon as I get the time, I'll start working on the pile.
I had promised myself that I would do some GFF work during the Holiday, but time flew by, and before I pulled myself together, it was over and "real" work started again.

I did manage to launch our new video channel in December and follow it up with a couple of articles on fly fishing videos and DVD's. This new section is well integrated with the rest of GFF, and has immediately become the most popular section on the site. I intend to do more on video in the future, maybe even start doing some video myself - more advanced than the few spots I have made until now.

But right now we have patterns, and reviews galore waiting behind the scene. I just have to pull myself together and do something about it - maybe ditching some paid work in the process, but never mind that. GFF has top priority, eh? My clients may think otherwise, but anyway...

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
