Disk Space Blues; Yippee for New Year's!!

Martin's disk space rebuttal: I agree. But let's think about New Year's!!!

Yep, Martin hit it on the head with his musing on the hosting industry. But I kinda figure that the hosting industry can only sell what they can measure on a set of accounting books. Bandwidth is a flaky thing to measure, therefore, it becomes tough to bill against. Disk space is nothing more than a fixed asset on the balance sheet in which they need a return for on the P&L. Hence, "let's charge out the @ss for our assets and make some big $$!". Well, we partners have been musing ourselves on how to cure ourselves of this dreadful disease: being raped by the hosting business. We'll get back to you on this...we have some pretty sneaky ideas in store! Now, onto some recent good news! I just learned that my good friend, Richard Ross, of east coast flytying and fishing fame, is coming out over New Year's to stay with me... and fish silly the State of Colorado! I fished the Blue River last weekend and had a good day of success fooling 16-19" fish on #22 flies. If that is any indication of what we can get into over New Year's, RR is in for a treat! And, if I do say so myself, I put on a pretty good tour of the state's FFing opportunity...just ask my partner, Martin! Right Martin?! So, there just may be a juicy story to tell in a trip report after RR and I (& a few others) partake in small flies and stiff libations. Maybe I won't include pictures...they may be too incriminating! Bring it on RR....can't wait for you to get here! (and if you bring any flies bigger than #18, I'll chuck them in the mighty Colorado, never to be seen again!)

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
