#103 Green Grey Ghost Variant - Peggy Brenner

Tied by: Peggy Brenner
Originated by: Variation of Carrie Stevens' Grey Ghost

Hook: Gaelic Supreme Mike Martinek Rangeley Streamer 6xl #1
Thread: White
Tag: Flat silver tinsel
Body: Orange floss
Rib: Flat silver tinsel
Belly: White bucktail
Underwing: Peacock herl
Wing: Green tinted dun hackle
Shoulder: Jungle cock body feather
Eye: Jungle cock
Head: Black

Notes: Peggy got her inspiration for the pattern from the classic Grey Ghost and a unique dyed cape she had received from Whiting. "The pelt had the most wonderful tint of green", she says. The jungle cock body feather lends to a slim profile, and the unique color in the wing is a perfect match for some of the smelts in water where big salmon lurk. The fly is tied quite sparse and looks amazing when wet.

The March streamers have now been posted on the auction page and will be open until next Sunday, April 15th. To check out the auctions, visit streamers2012 on ebay.

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
