Meko Special

Omeko Glinton created the Meko Special in an attempt to come up with a single fly that you can fish over any color bottom so you don’t have to waste time changing flies as you move from flat to flat.

Eyes
5/32" silver bead chain; nickel-plated lead for deep water, or mono or plastic for tailing fish
Tail
Originally tied by Omeko with a tan craft fur tail with a gold and pink blend of Krystal Flash; Orvis now ties it with tan Antron fiber or Fly Fur over a gold/pink blend of Krystal Flash (a pink holographic braid can also be used as a substitute)
Body
Omeko’s original had a tan rug yarn body; Orvis ties it with pale pink/tan blend of Antron dubbing

Soft brown saddle hackle, palmered and trimmed
